A family run restaurant in Littleborough, Lancashire.
The Green Door Restaurant was opened in March 2012. The day to day operations are managed by the owner and Chef, Graham Sherwin. Family run, our personal and committed approach is exactly what you would expect from an independent restaurant. Members of the Sherwin family can be found in a variety of roles in the restaurant, from behind the scenes to front of house.
Originally from Dublin and relocating to Manchester 23 years ago, Graham has an extensive and varied portfolio, from Cantonese and Italian cuisine to traditional British cuisine. His culinary expertise has been gained in large city centre hotels and restaurants.
Our High Culinary Standard
The kitchen has a small team who have a passion for using fresh produce, locally sourced where possible. Graham and his team specialise in variations on traditional British dishes. We closely monitor our suppliers, ensuring all fish, meat and vegetables are of the highest quality and are delivered fresh daily. Our dessert menus include a delicious selection all of which are made by Graham or a member of the team.
We are proud to have a superb reputation for quality and service. Visit us soon to find out why.
A Short History
The building dates back as far as 1823, when it was known as the Colliers Arms. It’s location at the bottom of Arm Road suggests it was frequented by workers from Dearnley Colliery and Starring Potteries. The name was changed to The New Inn when some rebuilding took place around 1870.
The restaurant was born out of The New Inn in March 2012, after it had been closed for many years, when Graham and his family sought an opportunity within the area of Hollingworth Lake, close to where they live.
